About the Owners of Riveted Retreat
In the bustling world we live in, it’s so easy to get caught up in the day to day, and before you know it, a week, a month, a year has gone by and you realize you haven’t taken time to sit down and connect with those you love. We at Riveted Retreat found ourselves in that very place, and went on the search for the perfect haven to get away from it all and take some time to find the romance again. That search just happened to lead us to Midway, Texas, midway between Houston and Dallas. Convenient, right?
Chris and Emmelyn, the original dreamers behind Riveted Retreat, were friends throughout high school and reconnected after college. Talk about slow burn! When they found the land that Riveted Retreat sits on, they just knew this would be the perfect place to create a sanctuary where couples could escape the noise of everyday life and rediscover the magic of being together. They’ve been in the hospitality world for a while and come with their expertise, organization, and attention to detail. Their love for adventure doesn’t stop at creating a haven for others; Emmelyn and Chris been traveling in their beloved 1964 Airstream for over 10 years, turning every trip into a glamorous camping experience.

Joining forces with them are Nick and Olivia, whose many travels near and far have always brought them closer together. They’ve found that the simple act of getting out of your day-to-day rekindles romance and brings fun into any relationship. They hope that Riveted will provide other couples an opportunity to rekindle their spark and create memories that will last a lifetime. Nick’s background in architecture has made the vision of Riveted come to life.
Now you’re wondering, how did they all meet?! What brought them all together?! Well, the answer, my eager friends, is family. Emmelyn is Nick’s older sister, and when she and Chris had the vision of Riveted Retreat, she just knew it wouldn’t be any fun without the help of her annoying little brother and his amazing wife.

Together the four of us, along with our adventurous children, have embarked on this mission of creating a place where couples can come together, rekindle their love, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
